Salted Caramel Cheesecake and LIFE

It is a good thing I take pictures because otherwise I would have no clue what we do on the weekends.  Really, anytime I talk to my friends on Monday and they ask, "So what did you do this weekend?"  I got nothin'.  Can't remember one darn thing we did.  I only took pictures of Saturday evening so I couldn't tell you what we did during the day, but that night we went to a farewell party for our friends the Guffey's.

Greyson was stoked to ride the motorcycle.  He took it rather seriously.

Here's Cami and her baby who is just about the same age as Addy.

Greyson always gets all the attention at the park, but recently I have been putting Addy in the swings too and she loves it!  There was a swing in Barb's backyard so I let Addy try it out.

I CAN'T wait to have a backyard for Greyson in TX.  He loves motorized trucks/cars that other kids have.  He was quite smitten again today by one at a birthday party.  One day Grey Bear, one day!

Oh, now I remember what I did Saturday.  Well, in the morning I went to the gym for the second time in 2.5 years.  I am so excited and hope I can start going more!  I told Alex I will be a new wife!  :)  Now that I have a work out buddy, my friend Rachael, I think I will actually try and get in shape.

In the afternoon I made this amazing dessert that I found on pinterest.  Side note: I think it would be fun (if I had the time) to start a blog where I just test out things on pinterest for people so you know which recipes, projects, and kids' crafts are worth the time.  Well, I have one for you that is worth the cost and time: Salted Caramel Cheesecake.  I have never made cheesecake from scratch.  This was delicious and I just polished off the rest of it this morning.  While I am on the pinterest subject, another recent hit was this art project for Greyson.  So easy, cheap, and fun!

Does anyone else go nuts adding things to an online shopping cart?  It all started because I have a $10 gift card to use at Gap.  Then I saw you have to spend $50 to get free shipping and one thing led to another and before I knew it I had $364 of baby Gap merchandise in the checkout!  So in the end I didn't get a single thing.

Grey Bear had a little cough on Sunday and I didn't want to infect other kids in the nursery so I stayed home from church with the kids.  Grey Bear had a BALL pushing Addy in the umbrella stroller.  He has been wanting to do this since the very day I brought her home from the hospital, so I finally let him.

She was just as calm and relaxed as can be as big brother pushed her back and forth, back and forth, over and over again.

She loves this horse jumper SO much.  She basically loves any activity where she is able to move!

This shows Greyson in all his glory!  We were on the way out the door this morning and he was running up and down the balcony shouting, "going to park ADDY!!!"  (He loves to tell her what we are doing).  I just thought it was precious and wanted to capture it!

Lastly, a little sleep update on Greyson.  I have never heard of anyone doing what we do, but it works great since both the crib and twin bed fit in his room and we don't feel rushed to have him sleep in the big bed at night.  Anyway, what we are doing now is letting him take his naps in the big boy bed and at night he sleeps in his crib tent.  He still sleeps with lights on and the door open.  It is a win win situation and everyone is getting sleep now.  Greyson was just too scared in his bed at night even though he loved his new bed.  So, I just decided it would be best if he went back to the crib for nights.  I was nervous that he would cry for his bed the first night, but I think after explaining it to him all day he understood that he was going to go back in the crib and he didn't put up a fight at all.  I think he feels more secure closed in.  Naps are great because he LOVES that I let him sleep in the bed for naps.  I put the timer on the clock so it turns green after two hours, and so far for three days in a row he has slept past the clock turning green, almost three and a half hours.  He has woken up before it turned green once, but saw that it wasn't time to get up so he went back to sleep on his own for another hour and a half!  I will quit recommending that clock, but seriously, I LOVE it and he does too.  He is so proud telling us he slept until the clock turned green (although he is still upset that only the outside of the clock turns green and the middle is still "lellow").  There ya have it, a very-not-so-succinct update on the whole situation.  :)  I am happy and so is he so life is good.
