Recipe lovin'

I tried lots of new recipes over the break.

These were my favorites:

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits.  These were awesome with grilled chicken, stuffing, and a fresh salad.  I had them at my mom's in NC and knew I would make them ASAP when I got to Florida.  Alex said, "This was the best dinner ever!"

7up biscuits.  This vacation was the first time I think I have ever bought bisquick in my life.  It has come in handy.  These biscuits were so buttery and delicious straight out of the oven.  Mine looked absolutely nothing like the picture (they were very sticky looking), but when they tasted that good, who cares what they look like!

French Toast with Caramel Sauce.  This was my favorite breakfast I have ever had.  Like ever.  Next time I will make eggs or something with protein to go with it because it was definitely basically dessert for breakfast.  I totally screwed up the caramel sauce because I forgot to add the heavy cream slowly, but it still was SO good.  I am not a syrup girl at all.  I eat plain eggo waffles every morning, but I was drenching my french toast with this stuff.  Delish!!!!  I forgot to add the bacon until the last piece, but to me, it didn't really need it.  I also will make fresh whip cream next time I make these, and yes, there will be a next time very soon!  Lastly, I made it with fresh Italian bread from the bakery.

Bacon Avocado Fried Egg Sandwich.  Sounds weird, but it was good.  I can't find the recipe, but you don't really need one.  Here is a picture from my pinterest board.

Christmas morning pie.  It doesn't have to be Christmas to make this egg pie.  Alex made this for us and it was one of my favorite egg dishes I have had.

Buttermilk pie.  I ate the whole thing in two days (with a little help from Alex).  SO good.

Pistachio cupcakes.  Divine.  Inhaled instantly.  Added 1/2 tsp almond extract to frosting.

Honey Garlic Chicken.  I've never really liked cooking chicken in the crock pot because I think it is always so dry.  I had never tried cooking chicken thighs in the crockpot (or at all for that matter), and these were really tasty.  I will definitely be cooking this again.

I shared the next two on separate posts already, but in case you missed it these were both AWESOME dinners.

Slow cooker shredded Korean beef tacos. and Bacon Tomato and Arugula Pizza.
